Who Owns the Air?

Paul does not call the enemy the prince of armies or the prince of money. He calls him the prince of the power of the air. Paul wrote that before radio, before television and before the phone in your pocket. God named the ground of this fight two thousand years ago, and today that ground is media.

You do not argue with air. You breathe it.

The enemy rarely has to argue. He fills the air with one message and repeats it until people stop hearing it as a message at all. It simply becomes the way things are.

It has happened before. Jeremiah stood alone against the prophets and priests of his day. Every one of them said “peace, peace” when there was no peace (Jeremiah 6:14). The walls of Jerusalem came down anyway.

And when a voice steps out of line today, nobody needs to arrest it. It is demonetized, deplatformed or throttled. The enemy does not have to jail a messenger he can simply unplug.
